So you’ve created a beautiful registration page with insightful registration questions and you set up your speakers and sponsors to help draw in your audience. But what else can you do to customise and market your event even further, you ask? Well, let us show you a few more great tips:
First, let’s take a look at the Registration widgets. These widgets give you the power to host the entire event signup process right on your website, so that attendees can checkout and purchase multiple tickets, send invites, and complete their registration all without ever needing to go to hopin.com. This is a great way to let your attendees sign up from a website they may already be familiar with. To set them up, head to Registration > Details, where you have the option to enable widget authentication here at the bottom of the page. Once enabled, you will be able to create your Embeddable widget from here. This will provide you with the necessary CSS or HTML code you can then copy and paste to your website.
Another great feature to use are promo codes. You can create and customise promo codes for any of your tickets and offer either a percentage or a fixed amount discount. You decide how many promo codes you want to offer and when they’ll be available. We’d especially recommend offering some Early-Bird discounts to boost ticket sales! Navigate to the ticket page to start creating your promo codes here.
There are a few more features I want to point out, starting with the Sharing and Messaging section. Here you can create UTM codes to track the spread and marketing of your events across various campaigns. xThis empowers users to understand marketing performance and where their traffic is coming from. UTM codes are replacing the referral code feature that was available previously.
Next, Under the Advanced > Marketing section you have 3 more useful features to promote your event:
Create a custom URL to make your event address much more memorable with your event’s title, instead of a random string of letters and numbers.
Another great option is to share a snippet. A snippet is a preview of your event page that is shown when it is shared on social media or viewed on a search engine. Instead of a simple link, users get additional information about the content behind the link. This is a very good way to captivate your audience’s interest and further boost registration.
And lastly, to get even more valuable insights into your event data, you can enable Google Analytics, to get additional reports on the activity of your attendees within your event, such as audience or behaviour reports, by adding a tracking code here.
From widgets to UTM codes, Hopin offers many great features to help you promote your event and boost attendance. We hope this video provided you with some helpful tips and ideas for your next event!
