CAMERISE est une initiative originellement propulsée par une équipe du Collège universitaire Glendon de l’université de York. C'est le fruit de notre vision, celle d’offrir aux étudiants, éducateurs, chercheurs et administrateurs un espace pour collaborer (un hub pour le français langue seconde au Canada) pour la pérennité des programmes d’enseignement du FLS au Canada.
