About this Webinar

Data graphics are often the best way to reason about large sets of quantitative data. They make it easy to recognise outliers and see non-obvious relations in a data set. Every day, a huge amount of information is stored in data centres throughout the world, and being able to create custom visualisations becomes more and more a valuable skill.

In this webinar, we'll discuss the advantages and pitfalls of different types of charts for representing data. How certain design decisions can distort the perception of the underlying data, and how you can avoid turning your charts into lies.

Through a series of hands-on exercises you'll learn the concepts and techniques for creating your own state-of-the-art visualisations.

Requirements

You’ll need a computer, a webcam and mic to connect with the group. You should have some experience with React hooks. No knowledge of D3 or data viz is needed.
