Moderated by IVP General Partner and former Dropbox CFO Ajay Vashee, the CFOs of three IVP portfolio companies, Coinbase, CrowdStrike, and Hims & Hers, will discuss the unique paths they followed to a public listing. Jeff Thomas of Nasdaq will join us to provide the latest market update.
Burt Podbere led CrowdStrike, one of the fastest growing publicly traded software companies, through a traditional IPO in June 2019; Spencer Lee guided Hims & Hers, a leading telehealth company, through its reverse merger with SPAC Oaktree Acquisition in January 2021; and Alesia Haas recently managed the largest direct listing in history for cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, in April 2021.
Together, the panelists will reflect on their experiences and share key considerations, as well as pros and cons, of each of the options when going public - the traditional IPO, direct listing, and SPAC. They’ll share behind-the-scenes perspective on prep work required, and speak to the implications for various stakeholders involved in the process.
