Michele Di Marco is an Architect specialized in disaster risk reduction with several years of experience in the humanitarian and development sector. Michele is lecturing in several universities on the topics of architecture, human rights, emergency response and disaster risk reduction. He is part of the founding team behind Téchne, the World Health Organization Technical Science for Health Network, where beside working on engineering control for infectious diseases, he is coordinating the Téchne members operations and activities. Michele is a true internationalist believing in the power of networking and multidisciplinary approach.

Madison Marks

Portfolio Strategist, UNICEF Venture Fund

Madison Marks is a global development professional bringing over a decade of experience working at the intersection of tech innovation, enterprise development, and social impact across sectors. She currently works as Portfolio Strategist with the UNICEF Venture Fund, supporting early-stage companies developing frontier technologies with the potential to impact children. Previously, Madison was Director of the Johns Hopkins Social Innovation Lab, and has also worked between Washington D.C. and the Middle East with companies like Expo 2020 Dubai, Rainmaking Innovation, Womena, American Councils for International Education, and Qatar Foundation International. She holds an MA in Arab Studies from Georgetown University and a BA in Middle East Studies from Florida State University. Madison is passionate about startup ecosystem development and continues to coach companies with accelerators globally.

Steve Ollis

Project Director, Country Health Information Systems and Data Use, JSI

Steve Ollis (JSI) is the CHISU Program Director. Mr. Ollis has over 27 years of professional experience in program management, digital health, public health, information technology, financial analysis, and business process reengineering. He is a gifted program manager, a successful leader of diverse teams, and a globally recognized digital health leader with a focus on program and system quality. Prior to CHISU, Mr. Ollis was JSI’s Team Lead for USAID’s MEASURE Evaluation and PMI Measure Malaria and Senior Digital Health Advisor for USAID’s Maternal and Child Survival Program. Before joining JSI, he served as COO of D-tree International, developing digital health solutions to improve the quality of care provided by frontline health workers. Mr. Ollis has extensive experience managing HIS strengthening and data use projects, leading geographically dispersed teams, and advising host governments in making effective program decisions about information technology tool selection and sustainability. He holds certifications as a Project Management Professional and a Six Sigma Green Belt and is in the WHO’s roster of Digital Health Experts.

Nick is the founder and CEO of TechChange, a leading social enterprise that builds high-quality virtual and hybrid trainings and conferences for social good, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in online convening. He has over 15 years of experience as an educator, technologist, and social entrepreneur in global development, public health, and social impact and has worked with 100+ NGOs, companies, and international orgs like the UN, World Bank, USAID, State Dept, the Gates Foundation, Google, Meta and more. Nick received his BA with honors from Swarthmore College and holds an MA in Peace Education from the United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE).

Paola Fava | Co-moderator

ICT4D Expert, JengaLab

Paola Fava is an ICT4D expert and consultant with a background in biomedical engineering and 15 years of experience in the humanitarian sector as project manager, product owner and innovation officer focusing on supporting, managing and promoting the use of technology and ICT tools in healthcare, DRR response and agriculture. Since 2008 she has been collaborating with international NGOs, European Universities and UN Agencies in designing and implementing projects involving the use of ICT to the development sector including the implementation of mhealth solutions and health information system products particularly in Southern Africa and Central America.

Johnpaul Omollo

Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer, PATH

Johnpaul Omollo is a public health professional and a health Policy analysist with vast experience in health systems strengthening and health policy advocacy. He has extensive expertise in health policy formulation, monitoring and evaluation, health systems strengthening and program management. Currently he is the Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer at PATH leading PATH’s Africa advocacy work on Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Regulation of medical products and Health research and development. He has served in various senior positions both at policy and implementation levels previously with the Health NGOs Network (HENNET), LVCT health, and at the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Mr Omollo was a member of the Universal Health Coverage, Health Benefits Advisory Panel (UHC-HBAP), a team charged with the responsibility of designing an affordable, responsive health benefits package for the delivery of Universal Health Coverage in Kenya. He also serves as a member of the Medicines Policy and Regulatory Reforms Technical committee under the African Medicines Regulatory Harmonization initiative. He is an advisor to the Africa Union COVID 19 Commission on local pharmaceutical manufacturing and also sits in the Kenya local manufacturing task force. He previously served on the global Gavi CSOs steering committee and the global financing facility civil society steering committee. He holds a master’s in public health.

Louise Agersnap

Head, WHO Innovation Hub, Department of Digital Health and Innovation, World Health Organization

Louise Agersnap (B.A. and MA Pol. Sci.; B.H.A.) is an innovation and change management leader with extensive experience & knowledge of global health, development and the innovation ecosystem, acquired through 20+ years in the United Nations, private sector & government, NGO, and academia. Currently leading the Innovation Hub at the World Health Organization, Mrs Agersnap is responsible for the development and execution of the strategy for WHO's Innovation in Health mission. In that context, Ms Agersnap is currently facilitating the ‘matchmaking’ between countries’ needs and demand and the supply of scalable solutions particularly in primary healthcare, Noncommunicable Diseases, and Mental Health, and supporting their scale up, and facilitating global consultations aimed at building the global WHO architecture and strategic partnerships to shape and enable WHO’s delivery of health innovation to Member States.
