SeaAhead and the New England Aquarium are proud to present BlueSwell's six graduating startups as they chart a course for ocean impact as leaders and innovators. They started with a vision and are using the tools of business to reach it.

We started BlueSwell because we believe that bluetech ventures have substantial potential for impact and that encouraging this type of innovation requires a dedicated and focused support infrastructure. Through the program, we’ve focused on building the capacity of these inspirational founders to convert their big ocean-focused concepts into profitable and sustainable businesses by bridging a gap of funding and mentorship.
On Demo Day, you’ll meet six startups pitching their business ideas with a mission to make real impact on ocean Sustainability. You'll get to hear all about the progress they’ve made since September, talking to customers, refining their products, planning pilots – and of course, fundraising! Stay until the end to join them for roundtable discussions and ask them your questions.

Keynote Address
We welcome Bonnie Lei, Microsoft’s first Head of Environmental Justice, Employee Engagement, and Ecosystems as our Keynote Speaker for Demo Day 2023. She embeds environmental justice at the heart of the company’s sustainability commitments and empowers every employee to contribute to them. She also leads Microsoft’s effort to protect more land than it uses by 2025. Previously, she was a founding member of AI for Earth, where she awarded over 850 grants in 110 countries and helped build the first Planetary Computer. We'll hear from Bonnie how technology can be a tool for protecting and improving our planet.
