This kind of event would usually be hosted in person, however, because of the pandemic, this was not an option. So FCM's main challenge was finding a way of driving the same type of energy, inspiration and engagement without attendees being able to smell, touch, and see the vehicle in the flesh.

To drive buzz pre-event, FCM hosted teaser content on Hopin that featured in pre-event communications, resulting in an impressive 80% conversion rate for event invites. They also customized the event's look and feel to ensure it was in line with the new car's colors and branding.

Driving in the Fast Lane

To achieve the emotional connection they wanted, on the day of the event FCM delivered a range of interactive content by making clever use of several Hopin features.

Attendees were shown a variety of pre-shot product videos, television commercials, and other marketing campaign materials. There were also live presentations and Q&A sessions with the car manufacturer's CEO and Head of Marketing.

Attendees could also book one-on-one sessions with the client's GM and marketing team to discuss further details about the car and its launch.

Feedback from the FCM team tasked with organizing this event was that set up was super easy, and key stakeholders were impressed with the look and feel of the car launch.

Along with plenty of positive direct feedback, The FCM Meetings & Event team made use of Hopin's reporting and analytics tools to asses the automotive launch's reception amongst attendees.

Rather than focusing on NPS, The FCM Meetings & Events team prefer to measure the success of an event based on attendance and retention rates as they believe these to be a better indicator of audience sentiment.

From those two KPIs, the automotive launch was an undeniable success. Attendance was over 90% and audience retention on the day stayed above 80% throughout.

Such fantastic results meant FCM had some very happy stakeholders, with their client praising the launch and remaining a loyal customer with FCM for future events.
